Help Rebuild Qing
Cheng Mountain
Sichuan Province, China
Please help the Daoist
Temple on Qing Cheng Shan (Mountain) in Sichuan Province. The
following picture shows a beautiful structure, part of the main
temple that was destroyed by the earthquake. As of today (5/16)
lives lost are estimated at 30,000. In the village surrounding this
temple, all living structures were damaged. It was said that most
smaller temples that mark the sacred land of the moutain are also
lost. Exact details are yet to be provided. Updates will be posted
as they arrive.
I am doing a
fundraiser to gather $9000 to donate to this temple and the one in
Long Hu Shan during my upcoming trip to China in November. $9000
sounds like a lot of money, but just think, if 900 people sent in
just $10 the goal would be met quickly. Converted to Chinese
currency, it makes a huge difference. |

The following email was sent to about 600 recipients: "Many of you have
been following my path as a Medical Qigong Therapist and Daoist. You
may also know that I am headed for China in November to be ordained
as a female Daoist Priest. This is a huge honor and blessing for me
as there are few women Daoist priests to begin with and even less in
the United States. The temple where I have received part of my
training was destroyed in the earthquake in Sichuan Provence this
week (Qing Cheng Shan). The Temple where I'll be ordained this year
(Long Hu Shan) was also struck by an earthquake in 2005 shortly
after our first visit. The two temples are considered "brother &
sister". Because I have experienced the poverty of both of these
regions and the hardships these people live with each day, even
before the news of the earthquake I had made it a priority to return
this year with a contribution for the villages. Now, seeing the
devastation of the earthquake raising $9000 has become the focus of
my attention for the next few months. If enough funds are raised to
support the expenses, I will travel to BOTH temples to hand deliver
the donations. These people live in poverty sometimes with shoes
that have holes in the soles, ragged clothes, children without
diapers, homes without coverings for windows, no electricity, scarce
heating, and limited food supply. I can't even imagine what it must
be like after an earthquake.
What I am asking is if you would share $5 to help support the cause.
It's not a lot, but it makes a huge difference when converted to
Chinese currency. In addition, your contribution is sure to reach
the intended recipients as I will be taking it to China myself. No
worries about it getting caught up in political or bureaucratic
red-tape. Even the smallest contribution will mean a lot to
supporting the rebuilding of the temples and villages. The Rising
Lotus is not a non-profit, but I do give you my word that your
contribution will make it to China. The name of each person
contributing will be taken to China and a special blessing ceremony
will be performed at the Temple(s). Please note that the funds are
intended for the villagers, we will be making a separate donation to
the temple. However, due to the structure of the villages where the
temples are located, most administration is handled by the temple
itself. Meaning, the villages exist because of the temples and the
people who inhabit the areas are usually related to the priests who
work at the temple. Remember, these are very remote areas and it
takes a lot of time to get there. |
If you could spare $5 (or even a few dollars more), please send it
to:

This website is viewed by
about 100 people each day. The original email reached about 600
people. If each person responded with a donation of $5, the goal of
$9000 would be reached in just a few weeks!!! That's powerful!

Or make a PayPal contribution...

**Please note that the funds
contributed are not being used to pay for my trip. My personal
expenses are being funded by my personal account. Part of the funds
may be used to cover expenses incurred for traveling between temples
as this was not on my initial budget. Your contributions will
absolutely reach the villagers who need it the most! |

The most
heartfelt gratitude is extended to the following persons who have
donated funds
to help the
families in Qing Cheng Mountain, China. Your generosity is
appreciated.
